Organizational Context:
Under the supervision of the IT Modernization Project Manager, or his delegate, the incumbent is responsible for the
following tasks:
Main duties:
(a) overseeing the implementation of SDL Trados translation software in the Brands and Designs Division, in particular
leading the design, development and implementation of a translation management system aimed at facilitating the
management, analysis, translation, quality-control and linguistic content delivery through the implementation of various
SDL Trados modules including but not limited to, translation memory, translation management and terminology
management;
(b) establishing related-project plans, as well as reporting progress against such plans to a project board and to WIPO Member States;
(c) overseeing the Change Management aspects of introducing the SDL Trados translation technologies;
(d) preparing of long-term resources necessary to sustain the implemented SDL Trados environment;
(e) performing other related duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
University degree in computational linguistics, translation technology, translation together with demonstrated experience and knowledge of the application of information technology to translation.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in leading projects involving the implementation of SDL Trados.
At least 9 years of professional experience in translation services and translation technology, including 5 years of managerial experience in design, implementation and supervision of translation tools and processes.
Skills:
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience of the SDL Trados suite of translation technologies. Knowledge of other translation memory, terminology and translation management tools would be an advantage.
Languages:
1/2Excellent knowledge of English. A good knowledge of either French or Spanish.
Annual salary: (Net of tax)
67,395 USD (at single rate)
72,373 USD (with primary dependants)
Post adjustment: 99.8 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or
downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
Additional Information:
* Duration: renewable, subject to satisfactory performance and depending on the project time frame.
