1. Date of Birth:

The Delhi University Medical-Dental Entrance Test (DUMET) for admission to
Under-Graduate courses, i.e. MBBS and BDS will be held on Sunday, 17th May 2009 at Delhi.  Interested candidates may apply on the prescribed application form.
The application form alongwith Bulletin of Information (BOI) is obtainable from the office of the
Assistant Registrar,Faculty of Medical Sciences, 6th Floor, V. P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007, against a Bank Draft/ Banker’s Cheque drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of ‘Registrar, University of Delhi’ payable at Delhi, in the following manner:
(i) By hand for Rs. 550.00 (Rupees Five Hundred Fifty only) between 10:00 A.M. to 03:00 P.M. on all working days from 27th February, 2009 to 02nd April, 2009.
(ii) By Post for Rs. 600.00 (Rupees Six hundred only) along with a self addressed envelope of 10” x 8” upto 17th March, 2009.
(iii) BOI is not available against “Cash Payment”.

Qualification :
  • The candidates must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system with required subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised school conducting regular classes and situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
  • The candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 45% marks in case of OBC category) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • The candidates must have studied 11th and 12th classes regularly from a recognised school situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
  • Female candidates belonging to Schedule Caste (SC)/Schedule Tribe (ST)/Children, Widows & Wives of Armed & Para Military Personnel (CWWAPP) category who have passed qualifying examination from Indian Boards/Universities or Foreign Boards/Universities may also apply for admission to Lady Hardinge Medical College. The condition of studying 11th and 12th class from a school situated with in the National Capital Territory of Delhi shall not be applicable to these candidates.

Note: (i) The Physically Handicapped candidates having disability of lower limbs from 50% to 70% are eligible and may apply as per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India.
(ii) In the event of all the seats reserved for PH category not being filled up from among the Physically Handicapped candidates with the above stipulated physical disability then the seats will be offered to the candidates within the physically disability of 40% to 50%.

LAWCET (Law Common Entrance Test), Andhra Pradesh
Colleges and Universities in Andhra Pradesh conduct and entrance test for admission into 3 year and 5 year LLB programs. The details of the entrance test are given below:
Applications Form and Test Date:
LAWCET application forms are usually made available in March every year.  Last date usually extends to April and the Entrance Test is conducted in May or June.

Eligibility for LAWCET:


A. 3 year LL.B./B.L. Course:
The Candidates for 3 year LL.B./B.L. should have passed any Graduate Degree of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned.
Age Limit:
Maximum age for seeking admission into 3 year Law Degree Program is limited to 30 years in case of general category of applicants and to thirty five years in case of applicants from SC, ST and other Backward communities.
B. 5 Year LL.B./B.L. Course:
The Candidates for 5 year LL.B./B.L. should have passed two year Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P.
Note: There is a relaxation of 5% of marks in the above qualifying examinations for 3year/5year Law course in favour of
Age Limit:
Maximum age for admission into 5 year Law Degree program is limited to 20 years in case of general category
of applicants and to twenty two years in case of applicants from SC, ST and other Backward communities.
Medium of Entrance Test:
The question paper is set both in English and Telugu.
Qualifying marks in LAWCET:
The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks). There are no minimum qualifying marks for SCs and STs for ranking.

LAWCET Syllabus:

The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability and aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts, each carrying 40 marks. The questions will be of objective type and include multiple choice questions, matching items, and questions arising out of a small passage containing basic information.

All India Bar Examination 2010

The first ever All India Bar Examination (AIBE) has been scheduled to be held on December 5, 2010. The announcement was made by the Law and Justice Ministry on Friday i.e. October 15, 2010. As per sources, the All India Bar Examination will be conducted in nine languages in 27 cities across India.

Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of Bar Council of India (BCI): www.barcouncilofindia.org. One can obtain the application form from all the State Bar Councils and at the Bar Council of India in New Delhi. Last date for submitting the application form is October 31, 2010.

As per sources, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has made All India Bar Examination (AIBE) compulsory for all law graduates who have passed in the academic year 2009-2010, to practice law in India. An official press release said that the BCI is providing preparatory materials (in nine languages) for this examination to all candidates.
According to a Council statement, the new examination will test skills and basic knowledge critical for a new entrant to the practice of the profession of law. As per the statement, it is intended to check for the eligibility rather than expertise of the candidates.
