National Institute of Fashion Technology or NIFT was set up by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in the year 1986. Today it is a premier institute of design, management and technology. The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. OR General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
For Master Programme – M.Des. (Master of Design)
Full time Graduation from a recognized University in any design discipline (Fashion / Textiles / Accessories / Graphics / Communication) or B.A. (Fine Arts), B.Sc. (Textiles & Clothing), B.Tech (Textiles) or Design Diploma from NIFT / NID onlyAdmission Procedure
The eligible candidates are required to appear for a written examination that is designed to test their knowledge, skill and aptitude for the programme opted. The short-listed candidates in the written test are invited for Situation Test (only for Design programme), Psychometric Test, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview as the case maybe, to complete the process of selection.
